Spring is definitely here and nature is providing so many opportunities to capture these beautiful spring flowers. Here I have a couple of images of a purple and white Tulip. The first is a portrait style that was taken with a Tamron 90mm macro lens.
The second image is an extreme closeup using the same lens but with a 20mm extension tube added.
For all these images I used a Manfrotto 190 tripod which can get your camera right down to the ground. I also used a cable release combined with the mirror lock up feature to minimise any chance of movement during exposure. The slightest movement will result in blur or slight softness in your image so you need to take every precaution to minimise camera movement. There was also a very gentle breeze which was very frustrating. The flowers didn’t seem to be very disturbed by this breeze with the naked eye, but when looking through the view finder it was surprising how much movement was occurring. I was very successful in capturing soft or blurred images! I had to wait several minutes between micro gusts to get a sharp image.
I hope you like these images
