Venerable C47 Dakota

Below is an image of the classic World War 2 workhorse – the Dakota C47 or DC3. This example is carrying the black and white D-Day stripes used to identify allied aircraft taking part in operations involved with the invasion of Europe in 1944.

There are many examples of this famous aircraft still flying today and its always a pleasure to see them. There are many other aircraft images in my aviation gallery.

Thanks for looking and I hope you like the image

Cheers
